Blown up Tank Arrives in front of Kim DotCom's New Zealand Mansion

Even though Kim DotCom, otherwise known as Kim Schmitz, is currently behind bars awaiting possible extradition to the United States after a New Zealand judge denied an application for bail on Wednesday, the founder of the popular file-sharing website MegaUpload continues to make headlines for reasons not related directly to his case.

After his amazing collection of luxury cars were seized by police last Friday, we thought that would be the last we heard about DotCom's toys.

Apparently, we were wrong as it has been reported by several New Zealand newspapers that after his arrest, Dotcom's mansion received delivery of a…full-size inflatable replica of a Russian T-72 tank!

BMW Driver Too Fast for his Own Good…

It seems that the BMW 5-Series [E39] sedan owner seen in this surveillance footage using what looks like an Opel Vectra as a launching ramp either failed to recall or was never told about the merits of defensive driving.

Guess he just had to learn his lesson the hard way… Fortunately, from what we can tell from the video that follows below, no one seems to have been seriously hurt.

Tough Guy Learns a Lesson About Road Rage and Hitting an Old Man

We strongly oppose any form of violence on the road or anywhere else, for that matter, but what happens when you actually see someone attacking another person? Obviously, there's not one answer to that question as it all depends on the circumstances and whether or not someone's life is in danger.

In yet another wild incident from Russia that was captured on camera, a middle-age man in a Mercedes-Benz was squabbling with an elderly man in a hatchback.

The talk quickly escalated and the person in the Merc stepped out of the car and began attacking the other driver, initially punching and then kicking him with all his strength.

At that point, a young man in an Audi SUV stopped over and came to the scene and said something to the Mercedes driver who brushed him away. Seconds later the Audi driver runs back with a metal bat in his hand and whacks the tough guy on his legs putting him down. He then rushes to the Mercedes and breaks the mirror and windows before returning to his Audi and driving off!

Why You Shouldn't Play Wise Guy on the Highway

As the saying goes, there's a time and a place for everything. And stopping on the left lane of a busy highway with the intent of scolding the following vehicle's driver for supposedly approaching too close to your car is beyond doubt the wrong time and wrong place for such a move.

See what happens next from the footage recorded on the trailing vehicle's dashboard mounted camera.

Chechnya Wedding Car Parades are a True Death Race

Horn and blinkers? Fudge that, automatic weapons can be much more convincing and when the vehicle in front of you doesn't slow down to let you pass by just give it a slight nudge and it will work out for the guy with the largest automobile.

Welcome to what is claimed to be a Chechnya wedding tradition where drivers are supposed to get behind the car that transports the evidently, very brave bride, for good luck.

We could have sworn that we saw Jason Statham popping his head out the window at some point… Get to know Chechnya's wedding traditions a little bit better in the videos after the break.

Pawned: This is Why Russians Add Dashboard Cameras to their Cars

No doubt, you've probably seen at least a few videos shot from within a car originating from Russia and other countries of the former Soviet Union.

Now, in the event that you were wondering why so many drivers choose to fit their vehicles with a dashboard mounted camera, we believe that the following clip will provide you with an answer...

It's Alive! Driverless Truck Runs Away in Reverse

Perhaps this large truck in the frozen Russian city of Vladimir got tired of waiting on the side of the road for its driver to return and decided to stretch out a bit in reverse, or maybe something went wrong. Who knows what happened, but we sure wouldn't want to have been in one of the cars behind it.

Take a look at the footage from a nearby surveillance camera in the video that follows below.

The Greatest Car Save You'll See Today

Here's one incident that could have easily turned the other way resulting in a horrific accident if it weren't for the driver's calm response when a truck decided to turn on a frozen road – possibly in Russia.

However, we reckon that he (or she) might have avoided the whole situation if he/she wasn't going so fast and practiced some defensive driving especially in these conditions.

Hit the break below to see how the incident unfolded.

Bentley Continental GT Coupe Falls Prey to Spray-paint Vandal

Who knows what kind of animosity the owner of this Continental GT Coupe in Russia had with the vandal who decided to seek some sort of revenge by decorating the Bentley with a bottle of spray-paint, but one thing's for sure: he or she ain't going to be happy upon viewing the British luxury model's new painjob…

The folks over at CarLifeblog tell us that the vandal wrote the words "New Happiness" on the windshield and the hood and "Scumbag" at the rear window of the Bentley. You can find a couple more photos after the break.

This is What Happens when You Lose a Wheel on the Highway

There is a multitude of reasons to as to why a wheel can come off your vehicle but whatever the explanation; the outcome can be extremely dangerous for not only the driver and passengers, but also other vehicles on the road, especially if it happens on a freeway/highway.

This driver of what appears to be a Hyundai Galloper, which is a rebadged version of the Mitsubishi Pajero 5d built by the Korean maker from 1991 until the early 2000s, lost his rear, right wheel while trying to overtake a car and a truck.

The large SUV almost tipped over, but fortunately, the incident ended without a crash. You can watch it as it happens in the video below.

Russian GAZ-69 Shows Toyota Land Cruiser 100 Who's the Boss

Not all four-wheel drive models are made equal, and while Toyota's Land Cruiser series has made a name for itself as a durable and capable 4x4, there are certain vehicles out there that were purpose built for the harshest off-road environments.

One of those vehicles is the GAZ-69, a light off-road vehicle designed for the Soviet Army. The all-knowing Wikipedia tells us that it was produced initially by GAZ from 1953 to 1955 and by UAZ from 1954 until 1972, while Romania's ARO also built the truck under license from 1957 to 1975.

In the following video, we see a GAZ-69 successfully pulling a Toyota Land Cruiser 100 across a river. An impressive feat to say the least.

Why You Shouldn't Put a Lexus to do a 4x4's Job

The Lexus RX is a competent crossover on the road but it's not the kind of vehicle that will excite you with its off-road capabilities nor will it get you out of trouble when nature gets tough. Then again, it wasn't designed as a thoroughbred 4x4.

A group of men, possibly from Russia or one of the surrounding countries of the former Soviet Union, found that the hard way when what appears to be a Lexus GX was stuck in the mud and an RX came in to help.

See what happens next in the video that follows right after the jump.

Is this Video Real? Speeding Car Passes Between Police Cruiser and Truck at Intersection

We're not ready to call this video real yet, but if it proves to be genuine, the driver that violated the green light at this intersection passing between a cop car and a truck, allegedly in the capital city of Baku in Azerbaijan, should feel more epic than Chuck Norris in any of his 1980s movies.

Take a look at the security video footage after the break, and tell us what you think.

In Soviet Cars, Doors Automatically Fall Off in Case of an Accident

In modern day vehicles, in the event of an impact the door locks are programmed to open automatically so to allow the driver and passengers to exit the vehicle or if that's not possible, to make the work of firefighters and emergency crews easier.

However, as you can see in the video that follows, Lada seems to have devised an even better solution to solve this problem…

Sitting in Front of a Fire Truck's Water Canon can be Hazardous for your Health

When the opportunity arises, men will always turn into boys around their toys, which means that you had better watch your back if the toy happens to be a real-life fire truck equipped with a water cannon and you just happen to be sitting right in front of it…

Don't believe us? Catch the (dangerous) tomfoolery video after the break.

Saved by Antonov: Saab Sells Production Facilities to Russian Banker to Get Cash

The Swedish government offered
Saab conditional backing for a deal to free up cash for the company (see previous story here), whose production lines have been stopped for two weeks as Saab didn't pay suppliers. "We have decided to allow the Debt Office to conclude an agreement with Saab," said enterprise minister Maud Olofsson during a news conference on Friday.

The government has approved a proposal from the Debt Office to allow Saab to sell real estate, including the production plant, to Russian financier Vladimir Antonov and then lease it back from him. The minister said this deal would bring €30 million to Saab in the first phase, although the real estate was worth much more than that.
