Renault Wind Gordini by Gibson

Unveiled at the Rock En Seine music festival, Renault and Gibson collaborate to create a one-off special based on the Renault Wind Gordini. Some otakus are familiar because this is the brand of the guitar Yui Hirasawa used on K-ON (take note, the Gibson Les Paul).

Wind ‘Gordini by Gibson’ features a blue livery with two white stripes, yet the colours and materials it employs also explore one or two other ideas.

The Wind Gordini by Gibson’s interior is a little more original. Six real guitar strings are hand-stitched into each leather seat back and the radio knobs are replaced with Gibson guitar knobs. The Gibson logo is proudly featured on the leather-upholstered dashboard and on the seat backs, just above the Gordini logo. There are other minor changes like chrome air vents, chrome door handles and white seat belts.

Press Release

Renault Gordini and Gibson in tune with a special show car and guitar at the Rock En Seine Festival

To mark its second year at the Rock En Seine music festival, near Paris, France, Gordini has teamed up with Gibson to produce a one-off show car and an equally unique 'Gordini by Gibson' electric guitar. Gates open at 2:30pm on August 26, 2011.

- The leather seats of the Renault Wind-based 'Gordini by Gibson' show car incorporate real guitar strings, in addition to a host of other rocking details.

- Gibson's iconic SG model from 1961 has been treated to a stunning makeover featuring the familiar Gordini blue with white stripes.

Gordini and Gibson: a shared passion for innovation

There will be plenty to please the ears and eyes of Parisian festival goers this weekend thanks to a display comprising the one-off Wind 'Gordini by Gibson' show car plus five striking Gibson SG '61 guitars in Gordini colours. The early 1960s saw Gordini and Gibson both revolutionise their respective worlds with the introduction of a sporting version of the Renault 8 for the former and the release of the SG electric guitar in the case of Gibson. The two brands have long been reputed for the accent they place on innovation and their open-minded approach to the future is founded on the same sense of freedom. The fact that Gibson and Gordini have joined forces for this project could but inspire Renault's designers...

"We had tremendous fun designing the Wind-based 'Gordini by Gibson' show car and carrying Gordini's visual identity over to the Gibson SG '61 guitar," says Julia Macfarlane, colours and materials designer at Renault. "I hope that we succeed in conveying the passion that fired us throughout the project and that visitors to the Rock en Seine festival will like the result."

Guitar strings for the Wind 'Gordini by Gibson' show car's leather seats

Wind 'Gordini by Gibson' is a two-part harmony based on the two brands' respective styling cues. Unsurprisingly, Wind 'Gordini by Gibson' features a blue livery with two white stripes, yet the colours and materials it employs also explore one or two other ideas. In addition to the two hallmark white stripes which extend over the bonnet and blue roof, hints of gloss black feature across the bodywork, while Gibson logos are visible on the doors. An original attraction of the show car's blue and white leather upholstery is the incorporation of genuine guitar strings which have been hand-sewn into the leather seats. Meanwhile, embroidered Gibson logos feature on the seat backs and blue leather-trimmed dashboard, while the seat belt straps are white and chrome has been used for the air vents and door handles. Last but not least, the guitar potentiometer knob used for the audio system's volume control adds a 'fun' touch to the intrinsically switched-on and off-beat Wind 'Gordini by Gibson' show car.

Gordini treatment for the SG '61 electric guitar

The guitar selected by Gibson to fly Gordini's colours is a reissue of the original 1961 SG, a radical electric guitar in its day which went on to make its own contribution to the Gibson legend. The striking graphics formed by the Gordini blue and two white stripes lend themselves perfectly to a variety of schemes, as illustrated by the special Gordini SG '61's blue solid body and two white stripes, plus a Gordini logo on the headstock which tops its ebony neck. As they play this magnificent object, those festival goers who take part in the Gordini guitar solo competition will get a chance to sample the model's timeless looks, playability and technical strengths. Contestants also stand a chance to win one these fine guitars as a function of the number of votes they receive on the web for their playing.

Susan Boyle - Overnight Stardom from Britains Got Talent 2009

This is crazy! While I was watching the news, they showed a video of Susan Boyle singing on Britains Got Talent. Next I see my dad watching this on Youtube. What a BUZZ this is. This person's name - Susan Boyle from Blackburn, Scotland, keeps popping up on news, blogs and on Youtube.

Can you believe that one of the video has over 12 Million views from only a few days. If you add up all the videos relating to her, I believe there will be around 20 Millions views! This event just happened recently on April 11 2009 and overnight, Susan Boyle is famous all around the world.

Now she even has a fan site at www.susan-boyle.com, which you can check out all the buzz going around there.

Still don't know what I'm talking about, watch the video below.

I couldn't find a way to embed the video on this page because all the embedding was disabled by request. Don't worry, just click on the link and it will open in a new tab/window. Just remember to come back to my blog to finish reading the rest of the post. =)

After watching this video, what do you think? What I can say is "Never judge a book by its cover". That's what many of us do. Just look at the face and reactions of the judges - Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan. They were totally stunned. Even the crowd was wowed by Susan Boyle's singing.

She Even got interviewed by news stations. Watch this video of Susan Boyle being interviewed by BBC Reporting Scotland of her feelings about the reaction to her amazing performance on Britains Got Talent.

That's all for the BUZZ.

If you have something to say or comment about, please feel free to.

Have a great day ahead of you.

Ben The Drummer's First Drum Cover

Hey guy, how are you doing? This post just came out from the blue and it's not on My List Of Things To Update. I'm very excited to inform you that I just had my first drum cover up on YouTube!

I was not aware that my friend - Alan would upload this recording of me playing during the praise & worship for the youth service in my church. After seeing him recording me, I was thinking "Great, now I get to see myself playing on the drums!" What I only knew was that he was just testing out some stuff. At around 1am that night (14/2/09), BAMM! I see my video clip up on YouTube and it was on his blog. I was shocked at first, but it was nice seeing myself playing. =)

Actually this is not the first time I see myself playing on the drums, but this is the first time it's recorded with a video cam, not a crappy video cam from the handphone.

A few months back at September before we had our last I.G.NITE! for the year 2008, I planned to record the whole praise & worship session, but too bad, until the last minute we could not find a video cam to record it. By the way it was also the bands' guitarists' last time playing with the band because he leaving for US to further his studies. I was really disappointed and it was a waste because the music for that night was awesome!! I had never played at that level before and the band was really on form and on fire for God. I was really sad as well because that was the last time playing with Ivan.

Okay, back to the video. The title of the song is - 'Til I See You from Hillsong United.

I have to say in the beginning, I was a bit blur because I forgot that I was suppose to start. My bad. Oh yea the tempo sped up a bit before going into the 2nd verse. And way back almost at the end of the song I made a mistake. I don't know why for one part Alan record my K-Swiss shoes. Hahaha... Check it out for yourself!

I hope you enjoyed watching it. So what do you think about my first drum cover? Does it suck or was it just so so, average or very good?

I need a favor from you guys to go over to my video on Youtube to leave you comments and rank the video as well or you can also leave your comments on my blog. Why not do both. I'll really appreciate your comments and feedbacks.

Oh yea I almost forgot to show you guys a few comments that was left on Alan's blog.

Hope you enjoyed this post and the video.

All comments and feedbacks are very much appreciated. It can either be good or bad I don't mind. I just wanna have some feedback from you.

Thanks and have a nice day ahead of you.

Beethoven's Fur Elise with a twist

I came across this cool videos of this guy playing Beethoven's famous piece - Fur Elise, while I was just browsing through some videos on Youtube.

There were some minor mistakes while he was playing and I didn't like some parts of his twist of this piece. But, there are some parts that I really liked.

Overall it's quite a good twist to Beethoven's Fur Elise. Enjoy the video.

He has also released his first album. You can check out his website at ScottBazzle.com

Let me know what do you think about this video after watching it.
